Company Profile:


The Partnership is led by three principals all of whom have extensive experience in design and construction covering a wide range of building types.

We are a chartered RIBA Architectural Practice, and a Corporate Member of the Association of Planning Supervisors.

Personal partner involvement is continued through at all stages of the design process, assisted by a team of support staff all of whom share the same dedication and commitment to achieve the highest possible level of professional service.

The Partners:


Barry Fletcher BA (Hons). Dip.Arch. (Greenwich)

Barry trained part time at Chelmsford Polytechnic to obtain National & Higher National certificate in Building Studies and then on to the University of Greenwich obtaining Diploma, Degree and professional practice qualifications in Architecture. Elected to the RIBA in 1996.

Barry has worked in private practice since 1981.

Barry is our youngest partner and provides the vision and driving force behind the future success of our practise. Barry specialises in designing workable residential schemes of all sizes, but also has a great deal of commercial and industrial experience. Barry is committed to ensuring the practice keeps pace with modern trends in technology in order to offer clients a truly contemporary design service.



Roger J Burrough RIBA

Roger trained part time between the North East London Polytechnic School of Architecture and various private practices.

Elected to the RIBA in 1973.

Became a partner in John Strong & Partners in 1978.

Roger has worked in private practice for the whole of his career. With many years experience of a wide range of projects, Roger is best known for his commercial, retail and industrial schemes. Roger combines his enthusiasm in all aspects of the design process with the continued desire to learn and implement new technology.



Andrew D. Black Dip.Arch Hons (PNL), mAPS

Andrew trained full time at North London Polytechnic School of Architecture, qualifying in1973 end elected associate member of the RIBA.

First employed 1971-72 with R.L.Carter Property Developers.

From 1972 until 1988 worked with Essex County Council Property Services Department. Project Architect & tem leader for various public sector buildings including Primary Schools, Sports Centres, the new County Hall in Chelmsford and South Woodham Ferrers Community Comprehensive School.

In addition to working on commercial, educational and industrial projects with John Strong & partners, since 1988 Andrew has specialised in mainly Healthcare Projects, for various Health Authorities.

Qualified and admitted as individual member of the Association of Planning Supervisors 1997.
